François Azambourg - The Douglas Vase. The Embrace of Wood

An original creation by designer François Azambourg (elected Creator of the year 2009) : a series of vases in blown glass created in the Centre International d’Art Verrier (CIAV). These vases Douglas are blown within a mould of Douglas pine which leaves the imprint of scorched wood-grain on the glass, like some petrified crystal from a long gone geological age.
