Pierrette Bloch - Multiples / intégrale

One does not immediately think of multiples when referring to the work of Pierrette Bloch, more readily associated with her singular ink works on paper or with meshes and horsehair threads. Yet the question of the multiple occupied the artist from her very beginnings in the 1950s to her final work, a large aquatint completed shortly before her death in 2017.

In total, around forty creations across various media and techniques were produced: printmaking, lithography, silkscreen, tapestry, artist’s jewellery…

Far from merely extending the rest of her oeuvre, these multiples illuminate it—or even reinvent it—as this exhibition seeks to demonstrate.
