Limited edition - Fabrice Hyber - hyber... Hyber

At the launch of his book hyber… Hyber, Fabrice Hyber made a limited edition of 20 copies: he participated directly by realizing a lipstick monochrome.

Fabrice Hyber has been working with this material since the beginning of his career: in 1981, he presented A square meter of lipstick, a canvas entirely covered with lipstick in a gold frame. He has also realized, during his exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo between 2012 and 2013, A square meter of beauty in collaboration with Yves Saint Laurent beauty.

A square meter of beauty or the temptation to bring the brut matter of lipstick to another level is a risk that I take during an exhibition. This exceptional moment gives consistency to the material and shows how lipstick keeps its strength even when not seen in its usual scale. My first painting, A square meter of lipstick in 1981, mixed rational and irrational, and the scale of beauty… Here, I needed first choice material to be seen in 3D… The colour accompanied by its perfume of the lipstick Rouge Pur Couture n°1 by Yves Saint Laurent Beauté comes forth as a sculpture to a greater degree than a simple kiss.” Fabrice Hyber
