Nils-Udo was born in 1937. He lives and works in Germany where he studied graphic arts at the Fine Arts school of Nuremberg between 1955 and 1960.
Precursor of the movement "Art in Nature", he interacts with the landscape without ever being violent towards it. From Connermara to the Reunion island, from the Vassivière island to Central Park, this globe-trotter imagines each intervention with the materials collected on site.
Nils-Udo's work now has a wide and legitimate international influence. He is now considered as one of the masters of contemporary plastic photography.
