Les Pitres - Hellène Gaulier
Les Pitres, a unique set of animated objects!
Les Pitres are the fruit of a collaboration started in 2015 between designer Hellène Gaulier, the Centre International d’Art Verrier of Meisenthal (CIAV) and publisher Bernard Chauveau. For this research project, the designer and a team of glassmakers worked together around the idea of incorporating thin brass pieces in the hot glass making process.
Each glass piece can stands thanks to its brass metallic extensions. Supported by crutches or proudly arched on their rear feet, on piles or on top of stilts, these unusual objects give life to a comic gathering of looks and postures, like a small group of glass puppets about to wake up into new contortions.
This set will be showcased in exclusivity from September 5 to 9, 2018 at the Off section of Paris Design Week in partnership with the CIAV of Meisenthal.
