La Spirale Particulière - Jacques Villeglé
La Spirale Singulière is one the rare sculptures Jacques Villeglé made in an edition of eight. With a different color chosen by the artist for each edition, each piece is a unique creation.
The originality of this “spiral” comes from the first name the artist gave this imaginary swirl: LILITH. Adam’s wife in the Jewish tradition, she was born before Eve and gave birth to giants, demons, and satyrs while being described as a demonic figure, a succubus of sort. Unleashing his imagination, Jacques Villeglé plays with other women’s names with double “L” like Lilith, therefore giving successors to this legendary figure.
