Javier Perez / Under currents

For our gallery, the Spanish artist Javier Perez has just completed a sequence of 7 plates on which he intervened with inks and pigments. The images are called Under currents.

Initially, these images recorded the memory of his nightmares embodied in his pillow. In a second phase, the artist intervenes on the print of these photographs with ink and pigments.  These interventions, patiently distilled on the surface, aim at re-enchanting these dark visions by the irruption of a veil of solar colours affirming the omnipotence of the imaginary and the unconscious. Each enhanced plate is therefore a unique piece.

This series, edited to 4 copies, constitutes a dazzling set accompanied by the original book made by the artist: Somnia in Somnia.
