Following on from Jochen Gerner's work for the "Hôtel Primavera" exhibition at the Maison des Arts de Bages from 24 June to 10 September 2023, the artist has produced 20 original drawings for the exhibition catalogue, making up the head print. Head print's price : 250€.
Using felt-tip pens, the artist continues the principle of overlapping used in the 'Villas provençales' series, as well as the grids, waves, wefts and iridescent effects of his 'En route vers le futur' series. And, as in his "Birds" series, Jochen Gerner shares his limited palette of colours on paper. The richly illustrated catalogue is accompanied by a text by Thomas Clerc and comments by Jochen Gerner, collected by exhibition curator David Quéré.
Prefaced by a postcard signed by Marcel Duchamp and found by Jochen Gerner, the book, which has the feel of a detective novel, is divided into a number of themes showing the artist's latest works: Carte postale Hôtel Primavera ; the serie Bages 2023, Gris Paris 2022 ; Éclipse 2023 ; Oiseaux 2021 ; Villas provençales 2023 ; Livre de cuisine 1867 2022 ; Planche de Pictogrammes (Les 2 Scènes Nationales de Besançon, Formes et Matières 2020-2021 and The New York Review of Books, Modules mobiles 2022) ; En route vers le futur 2022.
