For his exhibition Moving Inside at Galerie 8+4, Bernard Calet deploys a new opus of his work oriented towards questions of image and representation. If the exploration of the ambiguities of architecture in our civilization remains underlying, these new collages, paintings, photographs and sculptures form a tense reflection on the question of information within our culture. It is also a question of the screen, of energy flow and of a relationship to be reinvented with the primitive matter of our planet. By playing with stereotypes with a certain poetry, by building a critique not devoid of humor, by reaffirming the space of the studio as a place of invention, he naturally questions the way in which the objects and visuals of our daily lives tend to propose a world less and less open to the power of the imagination. His first solo exhibition in Paris in many years, Moving Inside oscillates between denouncing an ambient order and celebrating the power of enchantment of the image.

Bernard CALET was born in 1958 in Charenton. He lives and works in Tours. He teaches at the ESAD of TALM-Angers.
