This notion of shelter prolongs the evident interest of the artist for heroic performances, explorations and isolation places since the 1980s. One of a kind shelter, this window/work presents a series of objects lit up by neon lamps. There are simple and staple furniture, a minimal accommodation: a staircase, a table, a chair and a bed. This work displayed in three separate units opens a space of “fictional projection”.

In the framework of a state commission from 2013, the work Gimme shelter was created at scale 1 for the city of Saint-Etienne. This edition, created in 2016, is like a sculpture waiting to be activated from the inside as much as a poetic object that turns into a real image.

Nathalie Talec

Nathalie Talec was born in 1960 in Paris, where she lives and work.

Since the 80's, she's mixed autobiography to science, experimentation, fiction and even reality. Her approach questions man status, the in-between situation and the link with duality, with her own figure, as a central part of her work. The exercise is pushed to its extreme and the artist becomes an explorer, discovering the Pole to conquer this fascinating cold and immortalize it on her photographes. A real cold, that stand as a metaphor of art, of the search of the vital and the absolut to which one aspires to. She expresses her feelings about the world with the multiplicity of the mediums, skillfully playing with sculpture, drawing, video and directing.
