My-Lan Hoang-Thuy presents a selection of works produced between 2019 and the present day. Only her body, the recurring figure in the works presented here, establishes a thematic continuity. She modulates her anatomy, lengthening or shortening it, diversifying her poses, and thereby reversing any attempt to objectify her body.
My-Lan Hoang-Thuy practices art in a variety of forms, breaking down the boundaries between media and using photography, painting, drawing and graphic arts in her compositions. While her works all follow a similar structure – they are made using acrylic paint – their aesthetic, on the other hand, breaks away from any pre-established pattern.
