Elger Esser, original photograph
Lacus Rubresus presents Elger Esser's new work in the Mediterranean. This beautiful book is exceptionally accompanied by an original photographic print, ‘Vue du port de Bages’.
This photograph, taken in April 2024 during the artist's residency in Bages (Aude), is signed and numbered by the artist. The print run is limited to 30 copies. The pigment printing on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 g/m² paper was entrusted to Les Artisans du Regard in Paris. Elger Esser is a Franco-German artist-photographer who is represented in major collections such as the Guggenheim in New York and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and whose international reputation is rooted in the history of art. A student of Bernd and Hilla Becher at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, he departed from their teaching when he discovered landscape painting. With his camera, he travelled to many countries, photographing and recording timeless landscapes where water plays an essential role.
