To celebrate 20 years of creations by the House of Christian Lacroix, twenty items of clothing from the collections of the Paris based couturier were exhibited at a retrospective exposition at the Villa Noailles, south of France, by David Dubois, designer and Christian Rizzo, choreographer. Lacroix (Christian)
Born Christian Marie Lacroix in 1951 in Arles, France; married Francoise Rosenthiel (a boutique manager), c. 1991. Education: University of Montpellier, arts degree, 1973; attended the Sorbonne ; received museum curator training at Ecole du Louvre.
Began as a fashion assistant at Hermes; assistant in accessories, Guy Paulin; worked in the office of Jean-Jacques Picart; worked for a haute couture firm in Tokyo, Japan; fashion designer, house of Jean Patou, 1981-86; fashion designer, house of Christian Lacroix, 1987—; costume designer for theater, opera, stage, and film, 1985—; founder, XCLX, 2001; head designer, Pucci, 2002—.
