Lionel Sabatté has established himself as an iconic figure in contemporary art through his ability to work with a wide variety of materials (dust, human hair, oil, tree stumps, etc.). He gives all these materials, discarded or thrown away, a second life in sculptures, paintings and drawings that are like phantasmagorical dialogues with nature. For this artist, time becomes a material that he explores, notably by creating a whole bestiary that seems to come from the origins of time. His experimental work has recently focused on textiles, reinventing the idea of tapestry by producing works that are halfway between painting and sculpture. Lionel Sabatté has received several painting awards and has exhibited in major museums in France (including Saint-Etienne).
