Inspired by modernism, endowed with a great sense of colour, the artist has developed, for the past fifteen years, a graphic painting style that continuously interrogates origins and uses of shapes.
Invited by the Galerie des Galeries (Paris) and thanks to the carte blanche that she was granted, Karina Bisch fully invests the exhibition area of the Galeries Lafayette, dedicated to contemporary creation.
Inspired by modernism, endowed with a great sense of colour, sensitive to the history of applied arts, the artist has developed, for the past fifteen years, a graphic painting style that continuously interrogates origins and uses of shapes.
For the “Arlequine” exhibition, Karina Bisch decided to present recent art works in an unprecedented apparatus. The walls of the workspace will be covered by a canvas, on which black and white patterns are painted, that will immerse the spectator in a total universe. Windows created in the canvas will open onto coloured paintings. In the middle of the room, six characters wearing clothes designed by the artist give life to the exhibition. Karina Bisch is a colorist artist who plays with different mediums. She continuously interrogates modern art and revisits it by confronting it to applied arts.
