Bernar Venet / Lignes droites – dispersions

This woven work, Bernar Venet’s first tapestry, marks a major rupture in the artist’s practice, revealing his desire to explore new territories. Here, his ambition is not merely to transcribe into tapestry the complexity of a pure design, but to play with material renderings and the subtle harmonies of color and shine of the hundreds of threads put together. This work is undoubtedly one of the artist’s most outstanding productions in recent years. The design and production of the tapestry has been entrusted to the Néolice workshops in Felletin (23).
