Philippe Favier / Sempé tré
A new sequence from Philippe Favier's Leurre d'été (2017).
This new sequence from Philippe Favier's Leurre d'été (2017), presented here as a triptych and divided into several variations, takes its inspiration from the decalcomania boards that architects were offered in the 1970s to embellish their perspectives. Made up of bikers, trees and a variety of characters, these boards have been hijacked here to become the pretext for subtle variations on the shadows drawn by the artist. In a space with no horizon, Philippe Favier plays with the precise lines of these decals, creating dreamlike drawings in which the shadows take unexpected turns. Each set is enhanced by an original intervention signed by Philippe Favier. Each plate is framed in an entomological box.
