French artist Lionel Sabatté was born in France in 1975. He works between Paris and Los Angeles. Since 2011, he has received several artistic awards, including the Luxembourg Art Prize in 2020, the Simone and Cino Del Luca Foundation Painting Prize in 2019, the Amis de la Maison Rouge Prize and the Drawing Now Prize in 2017, and the Yishu 8 Prize in Beijing in 2011. His work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions in France (Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain de Saint-Étienne Métropole in 2021, Château de Chambord in 2023) and abroad, and has been included in several institutional collections.
Lionel Sabatté has been nominated for the Marcel Duchamp Prize 2025.
