Giuseppe Penone à La Tourette
Catalogue of the exhibition "Giuseppe Penone à La Tourette" from 6 September to 24 December 2022 at the convent of La Tourette.
Giuseppe Penone, who came to stay several times at the convent of La Tourette, was marked by the links that can be perceived between architecture and nature, particularly between Le Corbusier's pilings and the trees in the forest surrounding the convent.
The imprints of the wooden planks of the formwork visible on the rough concrete walls particularly caught his attention, to the point of creating works that show the traces of vegetation on the concrete walls.
This book brings together in situ views, unpublished works, older works, as well as texts by Didier Semin, Henry-Claude Cousseau and an interview with the artist conducted by Brother Marc Chauveau.

Penone (Giuseppe)
A member of Arte Povera, Giuseppe Penone has been creating very special artworks since the late sixties, showing man in interaction with nature, involving vegetation, modifying its growth, carving out tree trunks to reveal their inner structure, growth curves and plastic richness.More recently, he has deliberately directed his work toward the question of man's position regarding classical history, or his place in an increasingly artificial environment.
