These days, architecture has become a major issue for living together. The worrying reduction in the possibilities of our planet, and the need to question what growth implies, what a territory, a city or even a simple unit of life is, led us to take up the specific theme of architecture for Drawing Now. So we decided to bring together original drawings by one of the most innovative theoretical architects of the 1970s-2000s, Claude Parent (1923-2016). Throughout his career as an architect, Claude Parent has developed original drawings in graphite and Indian ink that reflect his humanist approach, concerns and visions of the world, sometimes utopian, often concrete responses to the major problems facing our societies. In response to this focus on historic works, two young artists will be responding: Clément Bagot and Claire Trotignon. Both also question the possibilities of the future, and each in his own field rejects the idea of saving utopias in favour of lucid observations on the challenges facing society. Alongside these drawings on the theme of architecture, we will be presenting the latest works by François Réau and Amélie Barnathan.
