Tomas Vu - White Moon & Black Moon
These two impressive works, White Moon and Black Moon, depict a fictive and futuristic landscape, yet to be explored.
Born in Saigon in 1963, Tomas Vu is an artist whose work perpetually questions history, particularly the manner in which collective memory is constructed (the Vietnam War, September 11, etc.).
Originally a painter, Tomas Vu's artistic practice also makes use of mixed techniques and a wide range of materials, such as cut outs, collage and wooden inlays. The intentionally abstract universe, as well as the spatiality of his compositions only serve to highlight the ghostlike features of his figurative motifs. These two impressive works, White Moon and Black Moon, depict a fictive and futuristic landscape, yet to be explored.
